The Faithful "Nevertheless" of God

"Remember me, O LORD , with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;

That I may see the good of thy chosen, That I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.

We have sinned with our fathers, We have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.

Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, That he might make his mighty power to be known.

He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: So he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.

And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them , And redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

They forgat God their saviour, Which had done great things in Egypt;

Yea, they despised the pleasant land, They believed not his word: But murmured in their tents, And hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD .

Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, When he heard their cry:

And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.

Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, To give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise.

Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: And let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the LORD."

Psalm 106:4‭-‬6‭, ‬8‭-‬10‭, ‬21‭, ‬24‭-‬25‭, ‬44‭-‬45‭, ‬47‭-‬48 KJV

I am so blessed this morning by the "nevertheless" of God. How He forever remembers his beloved and hears the cries for salvation from His children. His "nevertheless" is His mercy that endures forever. It is the very nature of who He is, a redeemer, savior, friend and lover. Though we so easily forget all of His works on our behalf, His demonstrated love for us in EVERY season of life, ALL of His goodness and mercy...NEVERTHELESS He comes to our side and delivers us once again. He comforts us with His arms of forgiveness and peace. He never leaves us nor forsakes us. He leads us through the wilderness of our own forgetfulness until we remember who He is and call once again upon our savior God, beloved King, Lover and friend.

Oh Lord, I thank you that you are the God of the nevertheless and rescue us when we cry out. You love us and lead us through the valley to the still waters where you restore our souls and mend what has been broken. Great is your faithfulness!
